报告人简介:

Dr. Yan Wan is currently anAssociate Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department at the Universityof Texas at Arlington. She received her Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineeringfrom Washington State University in 2009 and then postdoctoral training at theUniversity of California, Santa Barbara. Her research interests lie in themodeling, evaluation and control of large-scale dynamical networks,cyber-physical system, stochastic networks, decentralized control, learningcontrol, networking, uncertainty analysis, algebraic graph theory, and theirapplications to UAV networking, UAV traffic management, epidemic spread, complex information networks, and air traffic management. She received $6Mresearch grants from the National Science Foundation, National Institute ofStandards and Technology, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and MITRE Corporation as subcontracts from Federal Aviation Administration. Herresearch has led to over 130 publications and successful technology transferoutcomes. She has been recognized by several prestigious awards, including theNSF CAREER Award, RTCA William E. Jackson Award, U.S. Ignite and GENIdemonstration awards, IEEE WCNC and ICCA Best Paper Awards, UNT Early CareerAward for Research and Creativity, and Tech Titan of the Future – UniversityLevel Award. Her research on UAV-carried Wi-Fisystem for emergency communication has been reportedby many government-agency websites and media outlets, including NSF, NBC, NPR,Huffington Post, and the Washington Times.

内容简介:

Abstract:Applications of unmanned aircraft system (UAS) span goods delivery, infrastructuresurveillance, emergency response, and precision agriculture. With the increaseof UASs in the National Airspace System (NAS), maintaining safety in anairspace of dense UAS operations becomes a critical issue.  Airspace safety is challenging to achieveconsidering the flexible on-demand operations of UASs, limited payloads of UASplatforms, and complicated airspace and communication environments. In thistalk, we will discuss several new directions that address UAS airspace safety, including UAS networking through communication and control co-design, networkedUAS computing, UAS dynamic games with incomplete information, and UAS airspacecapacity management.
