报告人简介：

AhmedAbu-Siada(M’07, SM’12) received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Ain Shams University , Egypt in 1998 and his PhD degree from Curtin  University , Australia in 2004, all in Electrical Engineering. Currently he is an associate professor inthe Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Curtin University .His research interests include power electronics, power system stability,condition monitoring and power quality. He has published more than 200 researcharticles and the author of Application of FACTS devices in WECS book with IETpublisher. He is Editor-in-Chief for the international journal of Electricaland Electronic Engineering and regular reviewer for various IEEE Transactions.He is vice-chair of the IEEE Computation Intelligence Society, WA Chapter andIEEE senior member.

报告内容简介：

In thispresentation various applications for various FACTS devices in power systemswill be covered. Main focus will be given to the applications of FACTS in windenergy conversion systems. Facts such as Super conducting magnetic energystorage, Unified Power Flow controller, Static Compensator etc. will be coveredin the presentation.
